AI Engineer

SVN Labs is hiring an AI Engineer to design and build the AI-powered systems at the core of FifthBoston products and client engagements. This includes the Nadia AI assistant inside Helm, custom AI agents for clients, and the LLM integrations that make intelligent automation practical for small businesses and enterprise teams alike.
What you will do
- Design and implement AI agents, LLM-powered workflows, and intelligent automation systems for the Helm platform and custom client builds
- Develop and maintain the Nadia AI assistant, including prompt architecture, tool-use patterns, context management, and voice interaction
- Evaluate, select, and integrate AI models and APIs from providers such as OpenRouter and Anthropic based on performance and cost requirements
- Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and knowledge systems that give AI agents accurate, up-to-date business context
- Work with the full-stack engineering team to embed AI capabilities cleanly into web applications and backend services
- Research emerging AI capabilities and apply them to practical business problems across client industries
What we are looking for
- 2 or more years of hands-on experience building production AI systems, including LLM integrations, agents, or intelligent automation
- Strong Python or TypeScript skills and experience working with AI model APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent
- Understanding of prompt engineering, tool-use, and context window management in production agent architectures
- Experience with vector databases, embedding models, and RAG implementation patterns
- Ability to evaluate AI system outputs critically and design evaluation frameworks to measure reliability
- Comfort working in an environment where requirements evolve and practical judgment is as important as technical depth
